Corals or a coral ecosystem is composed of thin layers of calcium carbonate excreted by small marine invertebrates animals also called as Coral Polyps.
Their exoskeleton structures act as reef builders which create a coral ecosystem deep under oceans and rivers.
There are mainly two types of corals,
Hard corals, ex- Staghorn, Pillar, Table, Brain, Blue, Tube, Elkhorn and Great
Star corals; and Soft corals, ex- Gorgonian, Tree, Sea Pens, Toad Stool and Carnation corals.
