Answer:

Decomposition reaction:

When a single  compound split into two or more produce two or more

element then it is known as decomposition reaction.

For example:

In the present of sunlight Silver chloride get separate into their ions.

Chemically :

AgCl   = > Ag⁺   + Cl⁻

Type of Decomposition reaction :

Thermal :

When compound split by heat:

e.g.

CaCO₃   =  >  CaO  +  CO₂     [ Heat ]

Photoelectric :

When compound split due to presence of sun light:

e.g.

H₂O + CO₂  = >  C₆H₁₂O₆  + O₂     [ Sunlight  ]

Electrolytic:

When compound split carried out by electricity:

e.g.

H₂O  =  >  H⁺   +   OH⁻
