The nature, alignment and condition of the teeth in a certain species of organism is called dentition.
Herbivores have certain types of teeth, carnivores of certain type of teeth, children have milk teeth and after a certain age their milk teeth fall off and they have permanent teeth.
So the number, types and nature of teeth in different species in different times of their ages is known as dentition.
