The circulatory system in humans is designed in such a way that blood passes twice from the heart. This is called double circulation. It prevents the mixing of oxygenated blood and deoxygenated blood. It helps in fulfilling the energy requirement of the body

It then returns to the heart and enters the second circuit, going to the rest of the body, eventually, after having been deoxygenated, returning once again to the heart. ADVANTAGES= 1)The heart can increase the pressure of the blood after the blood has picked up oxygen from the lungs which means it can transport it to the body tissues much quicker. 2)Double circulatory system ensures that oxygenated and deoxygenated blood does not mixes up.otherwise the animal becomes cold blooded.in many animals oxygenated and deoxygenated blood mixes up due to which they are cold blooded.
