Resistance is defined as the property of a conductor to resist the flow of charges through it. The resistance of conductor is numerically given as the ratio of potential difference across its length to the current flowing through it.

The property of a body to resist or obstruct the flow of electrons ie current is called as resistance.
It is given by the relation
V=IR
but this equation is only valid for ohmic conductors.
(the conductors which obey ohm's law are called ohmic conductors)
Hope this helps.
