The conservation of liquid state into vapour state at atmospheric temporary is known as evaporation.

1.Factors affecting it-

  • Wind speed
  • Humidity
  • Surface Area
  • temperature

2.It causes cooling as it absorb heat from the surrounding and goes to the air.

3.It is the surface phenomena whereas boiling is the bulk phenomena. In boiling we need to increase the temperature for the conversion but it occur in atmospheric temperature

The process in which water changes in vapour is called evaporation.

The main factors that have an effect on vaporization are as follows :

  • Vaporization increases with an increase in the surface area.
  • It increases with an increase in temperature.
  • Vaporization increases with the decrease in humidity.
  • It increases with an increase in wind speed.

When evaporation occurs then than the liquid (mostly water) absorbs all the heat from the surroundings and take it with it and we feel cool. evaporation causes cooling effect because the heat energy is abosorbed by surrounding particles.

On the contrary, evaporation is defined as a natural process, in which the increase in temperature and/or pressure changes liquid into gas. Boiling is a bulk phenomenon, in the sense that it occurs throughout the liquid. Conversely, evaporation is surface phenomena, which take place only on the surface of the liquid.
