Heya friend,
Here is the answer:
WHAT IS MEANT BY EVAPORATION?
ANSWER:- Evaporation is the process in which the liquid turns into vapour.
WHAT ARE THE FACTORS IN WHICH THE RATE OF EVAPORATION DEPENDS ON?
ANSWER:-
1) Surface area
2) Temperature
3) Humidity
4) Wind speed
EXPLANATION USING AN EXAMPLE:
1) INCREASE IN SURFACE AREA:
The larger surface area will evaporate faster because of more surface molecules per unit of volume that are potentially able to escape.
Eg: Drying the wet clothes by spreading them out will help in evaporating the vapours quicker.
2) INCREASE IN TEMPERATURE:
When temperature increases the kinetic energy also increases. Thus, it evaporates fast.
Eg: Drying out the wet clothes in a sunny day.
3) DECREASE IN HUMIDITY:
In humid day, If the humidity is high the saturation of atmosphere with water molecules is also high so the evaporation process takes place slow.
Eg: In humid day the clothes won't dry faster. But when it is not an humid day the clothes dries fast
4) INCREASE IN WIND SPEED:
Greater is the wind velocity, higher is the rate of evaporation.
Eg: Drying out the wet clothes in a windy day.
Hope my answer helps you :)

Explanation:
Evaporation is a type of vaporization that occurs on the surface of a liquid as it changes into the gas phase. The surrounding gas must not be saturated with the evaporating substance. When the molecules of the liquid collide, they transfer energy to each other based on how they collide with each other.
