  • Extinct species are those which are not present recently and was found some time ago because of excessive use Or natural disaster that disappeared.
  • Examples- Dinosaurs, dodos etc.

What are Endangered species?

  • Endangered species are those which are at high risk of extinction as their number is very low and can enter the zone of extinct species due to natural or man-made impacts.
  • Examples - tiger, blue whale, Asian elephant etc.

What is Endemic species?

  • Endemic species are those which are found in a particular place and their number is low but the extinction of these can disturb the whole ecosystem or their impact is large.
  • These are found in North-East India, North-west Himalayas, Western Ghats, and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands.
