The Gandhi Irwin Pact was a political agreement signed by Mahatma Gandhi and the then Viceroy of India, Lord Irwin on 5 March 1931 before the second Round Table Conference in London.

GANDHI IRWIN PACT

》It was a political agreement signed by Mahatma Gandhi and Lord Irwin.

》It was signed on 5th March in the year 1931 in London.

》Some of the conditions were:

● It proposed that Salt March held by Indian National Congress should be discontinued.

● It emphasised removal of tax on salt.

● It proposed to release the prisoners arrested during the Salt March.
