Germination is the biological process in which a seed starts to grow into a seedling or a plant.  Dry Seeds are dormant.  When water touches them, they become alive and with the help of water, oxygen, and light. The temperature is also important during the germination process.
Seeds contain embryo and that starts to respire and live by carrying out the metabolic activities.
