Explanation:

Heat Exchange-: It is the amount of flowing energy in a system which may be flowing in or flowing out.

  • It is denoted by 'q'.
  • Heat exchange occurs due to the temperature difference in the surrounding and the thermodynamics system.
  • It is a path function.
  • As according to IUPAC convention when the heat is released, it is expressed in negative sign and the other side when heat is given to the system it is expressed by positive sign.
  • Heat will be always flowing from higher temperature to lower temperature.
  • In simple we can understand that heat flowing into the system will be positive and heat going out of the system will be negative.
  • It is measured in calorie.
