haemoglobin is the red colour pigment in our RBC . it is responsible for giving red colour to our blood.

Hemoglobin is a oxygen carrying protein present in the red blood cells. each molecule of hemoglobin consists of four heme group. The heme part of the hemoglobin contains iron and provide red color to the molecule. Globin part contains two linked polypeptide chains. Changes in these amino acid sequence causes a abnormal hemoglobins.

Hemoglobin in its oxygenated state is called as oxyhemoglobin and is red in color, when it binds with the carbon it is called as deoxyhemoglobin and is purple-blue in color.
