Some characteristics used for the hierarchial classification are:

Presence or the absence of membrane bound nucleus (prokaryote/eukaryote)

Occurrence of cells - single or in group (Unicellulalr/multicellular)

Mode of nutrition

Level of organisation (Body Design in plants as well as in animals)

A hierarchy is an organizational structure in which items are ranked according to levels of importance. Most governments, corporations and organized religions are hierarchical. In a computing context, there are various types of hierarchical systems.

An amoeba often called amoeboid, is a type of cell or unicellular organism which has the ability . In older classification systems, most amoebas were placed in the class or subphylum Sarcodina.The appearance and internal structure of pseudopods are used to distinguish groups of amoebae from one another.
