Homologous series is a series of carbon compounds in which each member of the homologous series differ by an atomic mass of 14u and a formula of CH2

E.g.: CH4, C2H6 and C3H8 all differ by an atomic mass of 14u and a formula unit of CH2. These 3 belong to the Alkane Group!

Cheers!
