(1) The longitudinal extend of India is nearly 30 degree.
(2) So, the earth takes two hours time to move from Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat.
(3) But for our convenience, we follow a uniform time all over our country. That is the time on the middle longitude (82 degree 5'E).
(4) The time on the middle longitude is always 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of Greenwich time.
(5) That is called Indian Standard Time.
