According to joule Thomson effect, inversion temperature of gases is the critical temperature below which a non ideal gas experiences a decrease in temperature while expanding at constant enthalpy. Above the inversion temperature, it experiences an increase in temperature while expanding.

The inversion temperature in thermodynamics is the critical temperature below which a non-ideal gas that is expanding at constant enthalphy will experience a temperature decrease and above which will experience a temperature increase.The temperature change is also called Joule-Thomson effect
