It is a thin structure in the eye which controls the amount of light entering the eye by reducing or increasing the diameter and size of the pupil

 Iris is present behind the Cornea. It's a black muscular diaphragm which adjusts the according to the surroundings to allow a particular amount of light to enter the eye.
