isomerism is the property of carbon compounds in which the structure of carbon compounds is different but the formula is same.

the different structures of that carbon compound is called its isomers.

for eg: isomers of hexane are n- hexane; 2- methyl pentane; 3- methyl pentane; 2, 3-dimethylbutane and 2, 2- dimethylbutane.
