jitters refer to someone trembling thinking about something that might disturb the person's mind...it is an expression used to express someone's state of mind when he/she has undergone or is thinking about something that is really terrible and disturbing...eg."John, a Jew who survived the Holocaust, gets jitters on thinking about the concentration camp in which he was tortured badly"
