  • Membrane bound vesicular structures formed by packaging in Golgi apparatus.
  • They are called "Suicide bag of the cell" as they help in destruction of unhealthy cells. They bring about intracellular digestion.
  • They contain hydrolytic enzymes like lipases, proteases, carbohydrates etc. Active at acidic pH. These enzymes digests carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acids.
