The Non-Cooperation Movement was a significant phase of the Indian independence movement from British rule. It was led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi after the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. It aimed to resist British rule in India through nonviolent means,"satyagraha.

\red{NON-COOPERATION MOVEMENT }

The non-cooperation movement was launched on 1st August 1920 by the Indian National Congress (INC) under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. It signified a new chapter in the history of Indian freedom struggle.
On 4 September 1920, Congress met at Calcutta in a special session. This special session was presided by Lala Lajpat Rai. In this session Gandhi wrongly projected that if the Non-cooperation movement gets successful, Swaraj could be attained in One year. This was something immediately repudiated by CR Das.
_____The Congress gave a call to the people to:

(a) Surrender all titles and honorary offices and resign from nominated seats in local bodies,

(b) Refuse to attend government of semi-government functions,

(c) Withdraw slowly step by step children from schools and colleges, aided or controlled by the government_____

(d) Boycott of British courts by lawyers and litigants,

(e) Refusal for recruitment for military and other services in Mesopotamia,

(f) Boycott the elections to be held for councils as per the reforms of 1919, and

(g) Boycott of foreign goods.
