The movement of atoms, ions, molecules from higher concentration region to a lower concentration region through a medium is called as diffusion.

Diffusion is just a movement of particles from higher concentration level to a lower concentration level.

Have you ever wondered how the perfume smell spread throughout the room when you just spray it over one corner?

This's because of diffusion. This happens because when you spray the perfume over one corner is difficult for them to stay combined there as the air is always moving. So, along with that movement of air, the perfume also travels. Resulting us to smell it over a distance.

Osmosis is a type of diffusion. It is movement of water molecules from higher concentration level to a lower concentration level through a semi-perimable membrane is called as osmosis.

Osmosis and diffusion is quite same. But the only difference is that, osmosis takes place only in water.

Osmosis is the process in which particles move from low concentration to high concentration.
