if a cell is kept in a hypertonic solution it will loose water to maintain equillibrium in environment and thus shrinks a process called plasmolysis. example of osmosis- keep kishmish in a bowl of water overnight due to hypotonic environment it will absorb water and thus swell up thus shows endoosmosis
