If in a single seed there are many embryos are found then it is known as polyembryony.

Some information about polyembryony are:-

* It was first seen by Leeuwenhoek in Citrus i.e. orange seeds.

* Polyembryony is generally found in

Gymnosperms but it is also found in some of angiospermic plants as well like in orange, lemon and Nicotiana etc.

* Adventive embryony also comes under polyembryony in which additional number of embryos are formed from the nucellus or from the integuments.
