What is meant by Power of a mirror? A spherical mirror of +1.5 D is in use. Find the focal length of the lens. Is the prescribed lens diverging or converging? If power of a mirror comes out to be negative then which mirror is in use?

converging ability, 0.67D, concave mirror

diverging ability, 0.58 D, convex mirror

both converging and diverging ability, 1D, plane mirror

both converging and diverging ability , 0.67, concave mirror

Answer:

Focal power is the degree of a spherical mirror or lens to which a lens or spherical mirror converge or diverge. Power of spherical mirror or lens measured in Diopter(D). Power of lens or spherical mirror can be negative or positive depend upon the type of mirror or lens. It depends upon focal length .
