Proto-imdustrialisation-It refers to the pre-industrial era or we can say that it was a period before the factory system came into being.
There was large scale production for international market. But the production was carried out in countryside and not in factories.Effects-
1. Open fields were disappearing and commons had no alternative sources of income.
2. Many had small plots which was not sufficient to sustain a family.
3. Merchants offered them advances which they readily agreed to
4. They got a source of income which supplemented their shrinking income from cultivation.
5. The whole family was involved in this proto-industrialisation production system

The production was done but it is not held in factories. It is done by labours and workers. Many historians now refer to this phase of industrialisation as proto industrialisation.
