A real democracy is the genuine form of democracy. It is originally the government by the people and for the people. There are rarely any countries that can be said to have real democracy. Switzerland is the only example of real democracy.
India is a country that has prevalent feudalism and oligarchy. Feudalism is when a certain group of the society is powerful and the rest are obligated to work for them. Oligarchy is when the power lies with a sector social and economic sector.
Apparently, India is a democracy but this powerful feudal and oligarchal social construct effects the democratic system.
India can move towards a real democracy when:
(i) The power lies in the hand of the people.
(ii) The end of the economic and social divide
(iii) Increase in productivity of the country
(iv) Increase in per capita income
(v) Improvement of standard of living as a whole.
