Redox reactions are the reactions involving the oxidation of one substance and the reduction of the other.

For example - H2s+Cl2-> HCl+S.

Q) What is meant by Reduction reaction ??

Answer :-

A chemical reaction which involves addition of hydrogen or removal of oxygen is called as Reduction Reaction.

Example :-

Some Examples of Reduction Reaction :-

1. Na + H2 ---> NaH (here we can see addition of hydrogen)

2. CuO + H2 ---> Cu + H2O (here we can see removal of oxygen)

3. Pb + PbO2 + H2SO4 --> PbSO4 + H2O

( here we can see that Pb is getting oxidized and PbO2 reduced to PbSO4. )
