Conditions required for a party to be recognized as a regional political party are: (a) A party that secures at least six percent of the total votes in an election to the Legislative Assembly of a state. (b) wins at least two seats in the Legislative Assembly.

➠It exists,operates and functions at regional level.It gives prominence to regional issues,specific problems of the region and it has influence only on people of that region.It lays more stress on regional culture identity,which it wants to preserve and promote.

➠A Regional Party is a party that is present in only some States.
