This was the period when Maximillian Robespierre ruled France.
Robespierre followed a rule of strict punishment and policy.
He guillotined anyone whom he thought were a threat to him and his party.
At last, he was guillotined in 28 July 1794, at Place de la Concorde.

Robespierre followed a policy of severe control and punishment. All those whom he saw as being 'enimes' of the republic - ex-nobles and clergy,members of his own party who didn't agreed with his methods were arrested, imprisoned andwere guillotined.
