Remainder theorem = It is the theorem in which remainder can be calculated without doing actual calculations.

p (x)= x^2+2x+3

x+1=0
x=-1

p (-1)= -1^2 + 2 (-1) +3
= 1-2+3
=2

so x+1 is not a factor of p(x)
because remainder is 2
