what is meant by rotational symmetry

narendera: Rotational symmetry, also known as radial symmetry in biology, is the property a shape has when it looks the same after some rotation by a partial turn. An object's degree of rotational symmetry is the number of distinct orientations in which it looks the same.

A shape has Rotational Symmetry when it still looks the same after a rotation (of less than one full turn). This image can be rotated to three different positions and each look the same. It has Rotational Symmetry of Order 3.

Hope it's helpful!
