he states atoms are 99.999999999% empty by
scattering the alpha particles on the atom
only few particle umm.. I think 1 in 10000 reflect ed back most particle didn't touched atom and goes on to straight line and some goes left and right

Rutherford atomic model is also called nuclear atom or planetry model .The model represents atom as atiny dense particles which have a positive charge are called nucleusin which all the mass is concentrated around which light negative constituents are electrons which circulate at some distance.
