To place the satellites in their specific orbits are done by using satellite launch vehicle.

The structure of the ISRO-developed polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) is shown here.

This vehicle uses solid and liquid fuels in four stages.

After each stage, the weight of the vehicle decreases due to the fuel consumption at that stage and the separation of the vehicle from its body.
