second's pendulum is the term used to define the pendulum with an oscillation period (time period) of 2 seconds.
A complete oscillation means, motion (SHM) from:
Mean->Extreme 1->Mean->Extreme 2-> Mean

By this virtue of having a time period of 2 sec. It's length (length of cord or string connecting the Bob with support) can be derived as:

T=2(pi) √L/g

We know, T=2s , g=10m/s^2
assume, (pi)^2=10

So we have L=1m
If you don't take the assumption, you'll get L=0.999 (~1)
