A Parliament session begins with an official summon from the head of the state, who is President in India. It is done on the advice of the Council of Ministers. Once the first day begins, the Parliament is called to be in session. It simply means that the Parliament is sitting and that is functioning and transacting its business.
During the session, it happens at times that the house is adjourned. Adjourment is st times for a definite period. Like it often happens in cases of interruption, like till 12:00 P.M. or as a general adjournment like till the next day. This is signified by the Speaker by the words, “adjourned till ”. In such cases, it is rather clear, that the Parliament is in session.
