The process of formation of a new species by evolution or any genetic modification of the previously existing species in a population is called speciation.

The factors which lead to speciation are :-

a) Geographical isolation

b) Mutation or variation

c) Natural selection

d) Genetic drift

Microevolution is the occurrence of small-scale changes in allele frequencies in a population, over a few generations, also known as "change below the species level". These changes are due to four different processes: mutation, selection (natural and artificial), gene flow and genetic drift.

Speciation is a process within evolution that leads to the formation of new, distinct species that are reproductively isolated from one another.
Microevolution happens on a small scale (within a single population), while macroevolution happens on a scale that transcends the boundaries of a single species. Despite theirdifferences, evolution at both of these levels relies on the same, established mechanisms of evolutionary change: mutation.
Evolution by means of natural selection is the process by which traits that enhance survival and reproduction become more common in successive generations of a population.
there are following steps:-
Variation. Organisms (within populations) exhibit individual variation in appearance and behavior. ...

Inheritance. Some traits are consistently passed on from parent to offspring. ...

High rate of population growth. ...

Differential survival and reproduction.
