anything that has mass and occupies space has mass is called matter

it is classified according to variation in space and mass this classification is called states of matter

solid liquid and gas are the three states of matter

Matter exists in three states they are solid liquid and gas.So these are the different states of matter . They are also interchangeable by processes of melting freezing boiling etc.
