what is meant by terminating decimal

terminating decimal means the the no. which get terminated after decimal ,, at least after some no.

let's take an example to understand it clearly :-

ex = 1.74

this no. get terminated now , it will not proceed ahead .

but non terminating is the no. which not terminate it comes upto infinity .

ex = π = 22/7 = 3.142.......
