  1. It was the first set of campaign.
  2. It aimed at consolidating the hinterlands of the gorrison town .
  3. The forests were cleared in the Ganga-Yamuna doab and the hunter - gatherers and pastoralists were expelled from their habitats.
  4. These lands were given to the peasants and agriculture was encouraged .
  5. New fortresses and towns were established to protect trade routes and to promote regional trade.

Eternal Frontiers :-

  1. It was second expansion along the eternal frontier.
  2. Military expeditions were sent to sourthern India.
  3. It started during the reign of Alauddin khalji and ended with Muhammad Tughlug .
  4. The sultanate armies captured elephants,horses and slaves and carried away precious metals.
