it means as and as the frog goes on teaching the nightingle, the nightingle starts losing her original voice and her voice becomes worser and woser. hearing this kind of voice the audience didn't clap for her as they used to do in the past. due their applauses in the past she had become used to it. but now those applauses were no more.
