What is meant by the ‘rate constant, k’ of a reaction? If the concentration is expressed in mol L⁻¹ and time in seconds, what will be the units of rate constant k for
(i) zero order reaction
(ii) first order reaction?

The rate constant is the proportionality factor in the rate law. For a general reaction, Rate constant gives the relation between the rate of the reaction and the concentration of the reactant in the reaction. Rate constant depends on temperature.

General form,unit of rate constant =(mole lit^-1)^(1-n) sec^-1

so,for zero order,put n=0
for first order,put n=1.
