We can think of moles like dozens.

A dozen has 12 things, likewise, a mole has 6.022 × 10²³ things.

A mole has such a value that when we multiply the atomic mass of some element or compound by the value of a mole, we would get the same numeric values, but in grams.

What I mean is,

1 amu(atomic mass unit also abbreviated as u) × 6.022 × 10²³ = 1 g
