Four types of resources can be obtained on the basis of ownership ;

Individual or private resources

These are owned personally by people. Many farmers hold land which is assigned to them by the state upon the payment of taxes. Some of the examples of resource classified on the bases of its ownership by individuals are car, books, house, land etc.

Community-owned Resources:

These are resources which are available to all the residents of the community. For example, burial grounds, village ponds, grazing grounds, public parks, playground are available to all people. Hence, they are known as community- owned resources.

National Resources

All the resources inside the nation are known as national resources. All the minerals, water reserves, parks, wildlife, property within the federal boundaries.

International Resources

There are global organizations which manage the resources which do not relate with the individual country. For example area beyond the exclusive zone or open ocean.
