- A tissue is a group of cells, in close proximity, organized to perform one or more specific functions. There are four basic tissue types defined by their morphology and function: epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The four types of tissues are:
- Epithelial tissue.
- Connective tissue.
- Muscle tissue.
- Nerve tissue
----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Epithelial tissues are widespread throughout the body. They form the covering of all body surfaces, line body cavities and hollow organs, and are the major tissue in glands. They perform a variety of functions that include protection, secretion, absorption, excretion, filtration, diffusion, and sensory reception.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Connective tissue is made up of cells, fibers, and a gel-like substance. Types of connective tissue include bone, cartilage, fat, blood, and lymphatic tissue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Muscle tissue is a soft tissue that composes muscles in animal bodies, and gives rise to muscles' ability to contract. This is opposed to other components or tissues in muscle such as tendons or perimysium. It is formed during embryonic development through a process known as myogenesis.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Nervous tissue is the term for groups of organized cells in the nervous system, which is the organ system that controls the body's movements, sends and carries signals to and from the different parts of the body, and has a role in controlling bodily functions such as digestion.

Tissue:-
*It is a cellular level of organizational level between cells and organs .
*It consists of a group of structurally and functionally similar cells and their intercellular material.
Types of Tissues:-
*There are four types of tissues
1) Connective tissue
2) Epithelial tissue
3) Muscular tissue
4) Nervous tissue.
1) Connective tissue:-
This tissue supports other tissues and binds them together.
2) Epithelial tissue:-
This tissue provides a covering to inside body.
3) Muscular tissue:-
This tissue can be categorised into Skeletal,Cardiac and Smooth.
4) Nervous tissue:-
This tissue is divided into two Central nervous system (CNS) and Peripheral nervous system (PNS).
