The slave trade that began in the 17th century between Europe, Africa and America was referred as Triangular slave trade.

a. Slave trade brought about worst form of exploitation and oppression of the slaves who were sold to the plantation owners in the Caribbean.

c. Rather, it was the very presence of slaves that made possible for businessmen to meet the growing demand of sugar, coffee, who prospered while exploiting slaves.
d. Jacobins made demand for abolition of slavery, which the national convention in 1794 adopted and agreed to, free all slaves.
e. However, slavery was reintroduced by Napoleon.
f. Slavery was finally abolished in 1848.
