When we are measuring the mass in a molecular scale ,the normal units of mass like kilogram, gram etc are way too much bigger to measure the molecular level mass.

For this reason we use the "unified atomic mass" unit or simply the "Dalton" unit ,to measure the atomic level mass.

One "unified atomic mass" is equal to the 1/12th portion mass of a carbon-12 isotope.

Due to smaller fraction of measuring, this unit can be used for almost every element.
