Virtual images are those images that are not real means that cannot be obtained on any screen they are always formed as a imaginary image....so thus images cannot be obtained on any screen those are the virtual images....

Answer => the image which is appeared to be formed behind the mirror is called a virtual image.this is not a real image, because it is not formed by the actual light rays.

when actual light rays diverge from each other we can project their past behind the mirror these Virtually projected rays from this type of image the image cannot be taken on a screen or a paper it is formed always behind the mirror that is against the shiny surface.this type of image is always upright.upright image means the image which is erect similar to the object it is called a upright image in Ray diagrams this type of images formed above the principal axis.
