The Andhra Pradesh Water, Land and Trees Act, 2002 repealed the APWALTA Ordinance as well as the AP Ground Water (Regulation for Drinking Water Purposes) Act, 1996.

1. To promote water conservation and Tree cover.
2. For protection and Conservation of water sources ,land and matters
connected there with
3. To regulate the exploitation and use of ground and surface water.
This Act came into force w.e.f. 19-4-2002. This Act contains 6 chapters 47
sections and 30 rules.
