the certain no.of water molecules in any compound which give an hydrous status to the compound i called water of crystallization

➢ Take some impure copper sulphate in a china dish and dissolve in minimum amount of water.

➢ Filter the solution to remove impurities.

➢ Heat the copper sulphate solution on water bath.

➢ When small crystals form on glass rods, stop heating.

➢ Allow the saturated solution to cool slowly.

➢ Crystals of pure copper sulphate are formed.

➢ Separate the copper sulphate crystals by filtration and dry.
